Vocalist, producer and “Canada’s Theremin Prodigy,” Clara Venice is a futuristic pop artist whose fusion of technology with music and art has mesmerized audiences from Tokyo to Toronto. She is the world’s first and only pop thereminist, and one of the only people who can play the theremin as an actual instrument.

Clara has opened for renowned acts such as the Violent Femmes, Barenaked Ladies, and Carole Pope/Rough Trade. She has performed at Spotify, Apple (San Francisco), Sofar Sounds, CMW, NXNE, TIFF, Art Gallery of Ontario, TimeOut Tokyo, Word on the Street, Hot Docs and has an official TEDx Talk. She has been featured on CBC Radio and Television, VICE, NPR Global, CP24, Comedy Central, and even Naked News. 

Clara is the recipient of a Canada Council grant, has scored several film and video soundtracks and appeared in feature films as an actor and performer. She was a recent Artist in Residence at the National Music Centre in Calgary and headlines the permanent installation in the collection’s Theremin Gallery.
